Apple Valley Freedom Festival to Celebrate America

APPLE VALLEY: (VVNG) – Celebrate America’s birthday on the 4th of July at the Town of Apple Valley’s 17th Annual Freedom Festival.

The celebration begins at 2 p.m. at the Lenny Brewster Sports Center. This day-long celebration will feature live music, retail vendors, a children’s play area and much more. The popular beer garden will complement a variety of food booths featuring funnel cakes, kettle corn, fresh lemonade and barbecue.

Frolic in streams of red, white and blue water when the Apple Valley Fire District Explorers turn their hoses on to beat the heat at 4:15 p.m. At 5 p.m. watch the newly crowned Apple Valley Idol winners perform and stop by the Town’s recreation booth to participate in children’s games, crafts and face painting.

This year’s headlining performer is NeOn NaTiOn, an ’80s tribute band that has entertained crowds all over Southern California. They will take the stage from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Just before that, “A Penny a Kiss” will perform a patriotic review in the fashion of the Andrew Sisters. The evening culminates with the largest fireworks show in the High Desert beginning at 9 p.m. Tune into Route 103FM to enjoy the show to choreographed music.

Lenny Brewster Sports Center is located at 21024 Otoe Road. Take Dale Evans Parkway 1.5 miles north from Highway 18. The park features 40 acres of grass, a playground and horseshoe pits. Bring your canopies and chairs, but please, no alcohol, pets or barbecues will be allowed in the park and no smoking please.
