Adelanto Man Arrested for DUI and Resisting Arrest

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com):  Southbound Highway 395 was shut down between Cactus Road and Mojave Drive for a short time while deputies investigated a three vehicle traffic collision Monday evening. The collision on Highway 395 near Cactus Road was reported at around 7:35 p.m.

A deputy from the Victor Valley station responded to the collision and began to interview the drivers of the vehicles. One of the drivers, 26-year-old Adelanto resident Daniel Ojeda was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

Ojeda was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and while the deputy attempted to handcuff him, he began to resist. The deputy was able to gain control, handcuff the suspect and place him in the backseat of the patrol unit.

The suspect was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence and obstructing/resisting a peace officer. Ojeda was later cited and released to appear in court at a later date.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Anyone with information relating to the above crimes is urged to contact Deputy Scott Hamilton at the Victor Valley Sherriff’s Station, (760) 552-6801. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call WeTip at 800-78-CRIME.
