ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) An Adelanto man is facing attempted murder charges after splashing his wife and vehicle with gasoline and threatening to set her on fire.
Jesse Jacob Yorke, 44, and his wife were arguing in the desert near Sonoma Road and Bellflower Street in Adelanto just after midnight on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Authorities say Mrs. Yorke sat in the vehicle and refused to exit.
“While she was still sitting inside her vehicle, Yorke began splashing the victim and her vehicle with gasoline,” stated authorities in a press release.
Fearing for her safety the victim called 911 and asked for help. Deputies arrived and arrested Jesse Jacob Yorke without incident.
“At the time of his arrest, Yorke was found to be in possession of two lighters,” stated the release.
Yorke is currently being held at the High Desert Detention Center without bail.
