Wind sends bounce house with 9-year-old flying into car on Highway 395

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 9-year-old boy suffered only minor injuries after he went flying inside a bounce house that landed on US Highway 395 Saturday afternoon.

On May 12, 2018, at 3:12 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Highway 395 and Bartlett Avenue in the city of Adelanto regarding a bounce house blowing away from a residence.

The bounce house was located at a children’s party in the 18200 block of Delicious Avenue in Adelanto. Thing quickly changed when a strong gust of wind picked up the bounce house and carried it over a fence onto the east side of highway 395.

“The child fell out of the bounce house after it had rolled onto Highway 395 and struck a vehicle that was traveling south on highway 395,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

Highway 395 was temporarily shutdown while helicopter CHP-80 landed on the highway to airlift the child. However, paramedics at the scene decided to transport him to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle had no injuries and was shook up from the ordeal.
