8 Arrested During Sex Offender Compliance Check

HESPERIA-( Hesperia and Apple Valley Station deputies made eight arrests during a sex offender compliance check on Wednesday morning.

This check, which was part of Operation Broken Heart, also located five sex offenders who were out of compliance.

“Operation Broken Heart is a proactive child sexual exploitation operation set out to ensure registrants are complying with their PC 290 Sex Registrant terms,” Hesperia Station officials said on a May 20th press release. “Operation Broken Heart occurred Countywide in a proactive effort to ensure citizens our San Bernardino County a safe environment to raise their children. Education and enforcement can work hand in hand to achieve prevention of sexually exploited children.”

The 116 sex offenders who deputies made contact with have varying terms depending on the nature of the offense for which they were convicted.

During the check deputies also confirmed that registrants were living in the home they have registered as their primary address. The above numbers reflect the 116 sex offenders in Hesperia and Apple Valley.
