5 Victorville Sex Offenders Found to be in Violation During Compliance Check

VICTORVILLE-(  As one of the most saturated areas where sex offenders reside in San Bernardino County, the City of Victorville created a Victorville City Sex Offender Compliance Check program. The program began in June 2012, and since there have been over 1500 compliance checks and over 100 registration violation investigations conducted.

City officials said that an average of ten percent of all San Bernardino County sex offenders and around twenty-five percent of all San Bernardino County transient sex offenders reside within Victorville City jurisdiction.

The Victorville Station, in observance of Operation Broken Heart, completed 200 sex offender compliance checks. Operation Broken Heart is a proactive child sexual exploitation operation that ensures Sex offenders comply with the terms of their registration.

Working in conjunction with the Victorville Station was the Specialized Enforcement Division, California State Parole, and San Bernardino County Probation.

The May 25th sex offender compliance check included checks of sex offenders actively registered as living at a specified address. From 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that day 186 of the 200 offender compliance checks were conducted and five in violation were sent to the District Attorney’s Office for arrest warrants according to the May 27, 2016, release.
