Child critically injured in rollover crash on I-15

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A four-year-old child sustained life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash that injured three others Thursday night.

The accident happened at about 8:30 pm, along the southbound I-15 freeway between Outlet Center Drive and Hodge Road.

For reasons still unknown, the driver of the vehicle lost control causing the vehicle to roll an unknown amount of times before coming to a stop along the freeway.

Emergency crews arrived and located an adult and several children with various injuries including. A 4-year-old child was rushed to Barstow Community Hospital (BCH) in ‘full arrest’, scanner traffic reported.

The driver was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Two additional juveniles were transported to BCH for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The accident caused traffic on the southbound I-15 to back-up for about 2-miles.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Barstow California Highway Patrol.
