3 rescued after helicopter crash near Wrightwood

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Three people were hoist-rescued from the Angeles Forest following a helicopter crash Thursday morning.

It happened at about 10:45 am, when the privately-owned helicopter, a Hughes 369 E model made an emergency landing in the 25400 block of N. Angeles Crest Highway, near the Mountain High Ski Resort, officials said.

Tactical Medics with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – Special Enforcement Bureau rescued three patients from the aircraft and airlifted them via LASD Air Rescue 5 to a trauma center. All three men are expected to survive the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the FAA. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
