23-Year-Old Stabbed in the Neck in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- A 49-year-old Apple Valley man is behind bars after stabbing another male in the neck.

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5th dispatch received a report of a stabbing on the 15400 block of Straight Arrow Road in Apple Valley.

Authorities said, the victim, Roy Founder, 23, was involved in a verbal altercation with Trent Yarbrough that resulted in Founder being stabbed in the neck.

Details regarding the altercation weren’t immediately available. However, authorities confirmed the victim and suspect did know each other.

Medical personnel responded to the residence and the victim was reported to be awake and breathing. Due the injuries sustained, an air ambulance was requested to transport the victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Authorities located Yarbrough and arrested him without incident. According to public court records, Yarbrough was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and booked on assault with a deadly weapon charge, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and shoplifting. Yarbrough is being held in lieu of $80,000 bail on all combined charges. He is scheduled to appear in a Victorville courtroom on Thursday, July 7th at 12:30 p.m.
