Woman found dead in vacant building fire in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A woman was found dead following a vacant building fire early Thursday morning in Victorville.

At 2:30 am, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a commercial structure fire in the 15200 of 7th Street and Tracy Street in Victorville.

Upon arrival firefighters located a boarded up building with heavy smoke and fire. Fire crews went into the offense attack and requested a 2nd alarm response, according to SBC Fire spokesman Eric Sherwin.

Firefighters managed to knock the fire down by 2:57 am. “During a secondary search we located one deceased subject inside the structure,” said Sherwin.

Sheriff’s officials confirmed the body of an unidentified female was discovered. “The cause of the fire, identity of the female and cause of death are under investigation,” stated a sheriff’s news release.
